Breaking Bad Season 5 Episode 9 'Buried' Recap/Review

After last weeks brilliant episode 'Blood Money' the latest episode 'Buried' takes a bit of a step down from the excitement. However this weeks episode is still highly intense scenes with Hank trying to gain enough evidence to arrest Walt.

The episode opens with an old man leaving his house late at night to get in his truck. When he turns on his headlights he discovers a bundle of cash on his drive and more on the road and the neighbours drives. He then discovers Jesse's car crashed into a tree with a massive bag full of money and Jesse slowly spinning on a roundabout staring into space. After this intro we carry on from where we left off last episode with Walt leaving Hank's garage after their confrontation and calmly enters his car. He then tries to get in contact with Skyler but Hank calls her first and arranges a meet in a diner. In the diner Hank informs her that Walt's cancer is back and tries to get a statement from her. Feeling pressured Skyler asks if she is 'under arrest'and leaves the diner when the meeting gets out of hand.

Meanwhile Walt meets up with Saul to discuss the situation. Saul subtly suggests that he should kill Hank as Walt did with Mike, but Walt dismisses the idea stating that Hank is family. After Saul's lackeys deliver the money hid in the storage unit Walt buries it in the middle of the desert, and writes the co-ordinates of the location on a lottery card. When Walts gone Skyler Marie arrives at the house, Hank having told her everything. Marie questions Skyler and asks if she knew the truth before Hank got shot. Skyler tries to apologize for her actions but Marie slaps her and tries to take Holly. After a heated argument Hank tells Marie to leave Holly. As they get in the car Marie tells Hank that they need to catch Walt.

Meanwhile Lydia meets her meth makers, a short argument ensues about the quality of the meth they are making. After looking at the lab Lydia hears gunshots from above. It is revealed that Lydia had the meth makers taken out by Todd and his uncles. When Walt arrives home he collapses due to exhaustion and suggests he should turn himself in but Skyler debunks the idea citing the DEA would take the money. Whilst Hank and Marie discuss turning Walt in, but Hank says he will be fired when he tells them Heisenburg is actually his Brother-in-Law.

At the end of the episode we see Hank return to work to find out that Jesse is under arrest for throwing the money, and as the episode draws to an end we see him walk in to interrogate Jesse.
