My Favourite Characters: Nathan Drake

Every week I will  be posting a feature detailing some of my favourite characters from film, T.V and videogames, this week I will the character is Nathan Drake from the popular videogame series Uncharted.

Although Nathan Drake seems to wriggle his way out of every bad situation he gets in, but he seems to never be in control of the situation. Based on daredevil Johnny Knoxville and cinema icon Indiana Jones Drake is one of the best videogame creations of recent times.

One of Drakes best features as a character is that he's extremely likeable and witty. Throughout the Uncharted games Drake cracks a number of jokes to ease the tension slightly. Described as an 'everyman' Drake also feels very relatable,and unlike the Master Chiefs and Adam Jensens, Drake is just a man he is not genetically engineered in anyway. Although it does help that he is supposedly a descendant of famed explorer Sir Francis Drake.

The way Drake interacts with his friends and loved ones is also a key factor in making him a relatable character. Although his relationship with on-off girlfriend Elena is important, his bromance with Sully has some of the best interactions in gaming. Let's not forget he also stars in possibly one of best gaming trilogies ever.
