7. Planet of the Apes

For the whole of the classic Planet of the Apes we are left guessing to which planet the film takes place on, that allows monkeys to rule. When you see a part of the Statue of Liberty you realise that the planet is actually a future version of Earth which has been overtaken by apes.






6. American Psycho

The film American Psycho follows rich Manhattan trader Pat Bateman who enjoys killing very much. After admitting to his several murders Bateman discovers that many of his victims are still alive, which means all the crimes were played out in Bateman's head. The twist really shows the level of Bateman's madness.





5. Psycho

When main character Marion Crane is killed off within the first half an hour it seems like Norman's mad mother was the one who committed the murder. But when Marion's sister and boyfriend investigate Bates' house you find out that Norman's mother has been dead all along and it is in fact Norman's split personality.





4. Empire Strikes Back

In probably the most well known movie twist of all time we find out that the evil Darth Vader the main villain of the films is in fact the father of the hero Luke Skywalker. In one of the most known movie lines Vader says "Luke, I am your father".







3. Se7en

Having worked his way through five of the deadly sins, the serial killer John Doe unexpectedly turns himself in, promising to show Detectives Mills and Somerset where the last two body's are hid. Doe delivers Mills' wife severed head in a box. Doe was extremely jealous of Detective Mills' family life so he had become envy. In a sudden burst of rage Mills kills Doe and becomes wrath.







2. The Sixth Sense

The young Haley Joel Osmont suffers from a pretty serious condition, he sees dead people. Fortunately Bruce Willis' friendly psychiatrist is there to help the young boy resolve his condition. But in a mind blowing twist we find out that the psychiatrist is in fact dead himself, that's the only reason Osmont can see him.




1. Fight Club

As Project Mayhem spirals out of control we see Ed Norton's narrator try to track down Brad Pitt's Tyler Durden to shut down the movement. Strangely wherever the narrator goes he's greeted as Tyler. Eventually Tyler appears and explains that he and the narrator are actually two sides of a split personality.
