POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD
8. The Governor (The Walking Dead)First introduced in season 3 of the zombie drama David Morrisey's chiling villain Philip Blake otherwise known as The Governor has become one of the best characters in the series. On the surface The Governor looks like a pretty nice guy, catering for all the people at Woodbury but as you dig deeper you find he is a very twisted individual.
7. Ben Linus (Lost)
The mild mannered Linus is the main villain to critically acclaimed Lost series. Linus seems so calm that you can never really tell when he was lying as villainy spiralled out of control. This guy kept audiences on their toes through all six seasons of Lost.
6. Mr. Burns (The Simpsons)
Probably the longest running villain on the list, Mr. Burns is the richest man in Springfield and owner of the towns nuclear power plant. The Simpsons have had to stop Mr. Burns evil plans several times, these include trying to make a coat out of puppy fur or trying to block out the sun. He is greedy, self-obsessed and horrible to his employees, especially loyal Mr Smithers. No matter hoe much we hate him though the animated comedy would not be the same without Burns' sinister 'excellent'
5. Nina Meyers (24)
In a series full of shock twists and turns finding out that Jack's co-worker Nina Meyers was in fact a double agent was one of the biggest. Not only did she tell a terrorist organization all of the CIA's secrets she was also the one to gun down Teri Bauer (Jack's wife). And she did it all because she felt like it.
4. James Moriarty (Sherlock)
There have been countless portrayals of the great detective Sherlock Holmes' arch nemesis, but none have ever reached the heights of Andrew Scott's James Moriarty in the recent series Sherlock. Scott plays Moriarty brilliantly. In a series with many villains for the main character Moriarty seems the most challenging to Sherlock. With a mind to match even that of Sherlock's Moriarty is the only one to ever really fool Holmes.
3. Joffrey Baratheon (Game of Thrones)
There could be quite a few candidates for this list in popular fantasy series Game of Thrones, however none are quite as sadistic and cruel as King Joffrey. I say King, Joffrey isn't really the rightful heir to the throne. Born of incest between his mother Cersei Lannister and her brother Jamie, Joffrey shouldn't be on the throne chopping people heads off for no reason. He's also incredibly cruel to his betrothed Sansa Stark.
2. Stringer Bell (The Wire)
Although Bell's morals can be slightly black and white, there's no denying that being a drug boss isn't exactly going to put you into the good books. Bell is very well educated for a man of his environment. He's also a man that everyone on the street knows, and everyone on the streets is scared of.
1. Gus Fring (Breaking Bad)
Although there a few characters from Breaking Bad you don't want to cross, such as axe-wielding twins or a crazy cartlel leader, Fring is probably the most frightening. Fring portrays himself as a community leader and owner of a chain of chicken restaurants. However he is in fact a drug boss who has a fondness of box cutters.
